Discover Columbus

Janice Ulrich (left) and Suzanne Walcott (right) have been friends for more than 45 years. Both are interested in preserving the rich history of Columbus, Wisconsin in a format relevant and engaging for future generations. Ulrich's professional career began as a Registered Dietitian, and branched out to becoming the owner of a wholesale food service distributorship in Columbus with her husband. She also served in various administrative positions for the State of Wisconsin and the Medical School at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Retired since 2007, she now enjoys volunteering in Columbus during the summer months and in Green Valley, Arizona where she spends the winter.

Suzanne, a Registered Nurse by training, with her husband John, own Walcott Studio in Columbus. Together they enthusiastically assure that old meaningful photographs will be preserved. They maintain an extensive photographic file of the history of Columbus, including many images of items in the Christopher Columbus Museum, and on display in several Columbus businesses. Their technical skills in dealing with vintage photographs has been invaluable in the production of these historical volumes.
